Centre for Research, Research Coordination and Analysis
 
The Centre for Research, Research Coordination and Analysis carries out interdisciplinary research activities to monitor trends within the educational system, both on macro (system or policy-oriented) and micro (individual school, teacher and pupil) levels. Responsibilities of the Centre include the analysis of changes in public and higher education, adult education and vocational training, their interpretation in Hungarian and international contexts and professional support for policy decisions. These activities are carried out partly by the researchers of the Centre and partly by external researchers, research network contacts coordinated by the Centre.
 
 
Centre for Developments and Innovation
 
The activities of the Centre aim at developing learning skills for lifelong learning and acquiring modern knowledge. Based on Hungarian and international research the activities also aim to enrich the methodological culture that can be used in the processes of learning management, to explore the development and integration possibilities of educational organizations, to develop programmes for improvement and to prepare the adaptation and support the realization of these programmes. Main responsibilities include revealing the causes of school failure and developing and evaluating institutional and class level strategies and methods aiming at the prevention of failure. Other responsibilities include support for research and development programmes serving the modernization of the content requirements and examination system of public education, related activities of assessment, innovation and in-service training, developing and standardizing the assessment criteria and tools required for   national assessment and evaluation systems, developing the assessment and evaluation methodology and contributing to the interpretation of outcomes.
 
 
Centre for Educational Services
 
Educational services constituting the most widely taken learning support are of utmost significance in the utilization of the results of educational research and development, in the efficient management of the educational system and in the articulation of the interests and values of the stakeholders in education. The Centre carries out mediating, conciliating, informing, coordinating activities as well as tasks of organization and thematic and objective-oriented offices.

Centre for Priority Development Project Coordination
 
The Centre carries out organizational and management activities related to the research and development activities of The Institution. The main responsibility of the Centre includes the effective and efficient realization of development programmes funded by the Structural Funds.
 
 
 
 
The responsibilities of the National Educational Library and Museum include collecting, preserving, protecting as well as processing and making available all Hungarian and selected international educational literature and providing modern professional services. 
 
The responsibilities also include exploring, collecting, preserving, registering and protecting as well as processing, documenting, publishing and using for educational purposes the cultural goods and relics connected to the history of public education in Hungary.
